Pops On-Stage celebrates the Golden Age of Radio

The Glen Rock Pops Orchestra will perform on Sunday, June 2 at 3:00pm in the Glen Rock High School Auditorium located at 600 Harristown Road in town.  The concert is free to attendees, but donations are appreciated at the door.

Under the baton of Music Director, Anthony LaGruth, the orchestra brings back the days when RADIO was KING and music filled the airwaves.  The concert recreates the serenades of Benny Goodman, swing selections from Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and Hoagy Carmichael, and the great unforgettable sounds from the Gershwin boys and Irving Berlin.  Arturo Toscanini and his Symphony of the Air brought the classics to millions of listeners across the country with Marche Slav and no one can ever forget the pounding hooves as the Long Ranger gallops off in the sunset to strains of the William Tell Overture.

Mr. LaGruth currently serves as the Music Director and Conductor of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra (NJ) and serves as the Associate Conductor of the North Shore Symphony (NY).  Je is a member of the Board of Directors of the Conductors Guild, a national service organization for conductors.
